We use a 75 year old sour (aka “starter”) in our rye formula which gives it a distinctive, sour dough flavor. Instructions: Although the rye bread is only partially baked, it is still perfectly fine to eat as is. But you bought this bread so you have the luxury of baking a hot loaf at your convenience. Simply pre-heat your oven to 425° F. Place the rye bread directly on the oven rack or a hearth stone if available, and bake for 10-12 minutes or until it reaches your desired crustiness. Viola! Freezer: Rye bread can be frozen in the bread bag it comes in. It can last up to several weeks in your freezer. Thaw out about one hour before serving.
